Welcome to the Alabama District of Pilot International

Our 100 Year Anniversary of Pilot International is fast Approaching. Pilot International was started in 1921, in Macon Georgia as a Woman’s Club. Pilot quickly spread into Alabama with some of the first clubs to be established. Alabama District, Pilot International consists of 18 clubs covering all areas of the state. We are 425 members strong and still growing.

Our Clubs spread “Friendship and Service” throughout Alabama, with each Club having their own special projects which help and support their communities.  Pilot International’s Mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. To do this, we come together in friendship and service, focusing on encouraging brain safety and health and supporting those who care for others.

Preparing Youth for Service, teaching youth how to lead with a mind for service is accomplished in the Alabama District with our Anchor Clubs, (middle school and high school students) and our Compass Club (college and young adults age 18-26).  We have over 900 youth in our Anchor Clubs and they are very active with excellent community service programs and we are excited that our Anchor Clubs are growing yearly in student numbers and clubs!  We have the first Chartered Compass Club in Pilot International and we have plans to grow our Compass Clubs yearly.

The Alabama District Traumatic Brain Injury Camp was established in 2014. Once a year we host a camp for adult survivors of Traumatic Brain Injuries and their caregivers at beautiful Camp ASCCA in Jackson’s Gap, AL. TBI Camp is fully funded by Pilots and Pilot Clubs with donations, grants, and sponsors.  Our next camp will be April 8-10, 2022 and plans are already under way as we continue to provide an amazing opportunity for TBI survivors and their caregivers.

We continue to look for opportunities to spread Pilot throughout our District. We need members and volunteers to carry out our mission to "Do More, Care More and Be More." We would love for you to be a part of our District. We also look for opportunities to establish new Pilot Clubs and we would be glad to assist you in spreading Pilot in your area. You will find our current clubs listed in the Alabama District Directory on this website.  We are one phone call or email away.

In Process

History was made on April 4-6, 2014, when the Alabama District hosted and participated in their first Pilot International Alabama District Traumatic Brain Injury Camp. Pilots hosted approximately 23 campers and caregivers at Camp ASCCA for a weekend of fun and fellowship.

This District Project and Camp has grown each year, with more campers and caregivers attending and more Pilot and Anchors helping!

Together with donations, camperships, and Grants from Pilot International Founders Fund we are able to provide the experiences of boat riding, zip lining, fishing, bingo, golf, crafting at Camp, along with fellowship and fun for all campers who apply.

Campers must be 18 years of age or older and have a caregiver attend with them, everything else is provided and what fun we have.

Our next camp is scheduled for April 8-10, 2022. Plans are underway as we prepare for another great experience for the campers, caregivers, Pilots, and Anchors.
